Anxiety is a familiar, everyday feeling for contemporary people. From digital generation youth to adults juggling work and family, "anxiety" is no longer just a medical diagnosis, but a defining characteristic of our time. This Mindful Read & Sip / The Unwind Salon / Pause & Read Club event will use "The Uncontrolled Anxiety Generation" as a starting point, guiding participants through reading, discussion, and exchange to re-examine how anxiety affects mental and physical well-being and social interactions; through group support and self-awareness, it aims to transform anxiety into creativity and motivation. This is not just a book club, but a thought salon—finding the strength of companionship and moments of inner peace through words and dialogue.

In the tsunami of our times called "anxiety," we often mistakenly believe that we are an isolated island.

The Uncontrolled Anxiety GenerationThey provided us with a map, and this salon will be our first collective voyage.

Humans are born with various emotions. Some emotions, if examined closely, can leave us bewildered; fear is one of them. Therefore, this time we will attempt to explore the emotion of fear from a macro perspective. We won't confront our own acute fears directly, but we will use art as a medium to explore the concept of fear. Together, we will explore how to reshape ourselves and find a comfortable distance from fear.

"Sincere discussion and personal sharing"

I used to live up to other people's expectations, constantly comparing myself to others and caring a lot about what they thought. It was travel that changed many of my perspectives.

From crossing the Trans-Siberian Railway alone, sitting by the endless train window feeling the weight of time and loneliness; to experiencing theft and lost luggage in unfamiliar South American cities, feeling anxious and helpless due to language barriers—those moments made me truly see my own emotions for the first time: unease, fear, loneliness, and vulnerability. It was also on the road that I learned to coexist with these emotions.

For me, travel is not just about destinations, but a process of self-reflection and gradual reconciliation. You're welcome to listen to my story; perhaps we can find our way home on each other's journeys.

細C / Cassie Lam

Victoria Yeung
